Systems Innovation
Applying Leverage
…to improve the system effectively and efficiently
The next step in Systems Innovation is to identify and apply leverage. Here we will…
Finalize our systems map and narrative
Consider the nature of elements and how they might serve as levers for change
Identify the top three most useful levers
Tell your new systems narrative including opportunities for change
Leverage Analysis
You can use miro for this activity by taking a screen shot your map in kumu and importing it into miro. Then utilize miro emojis to label your elements.
Consider if any of the elements of your systems map might serve as a lever, or if they are frozen. Identify them using icons like those below.…
Once you have identified elements that are frozen, have energy for change, are a mixed bag, or bright spots, or might cause a ripple effect, consider which are the most important levers for change and identify them with numbers.
Systems narrative
Share the narrative of your system including opportunities for change.
Prototype & Testing
Develop prototypes of your recommendations for systems change in order to test out your hypotheses. Test them out on stakeholders.
Implementation Plan
Develop an implementation plan for your recommendations.
