Program Room Maintenance

This page shows how to transition the Hub Program room from theatre seating to group seating and back again and illustrates important steps to keep the room clean and orderly.

Theatre Seating

Days: Mon, Wed, Fri

16 tables, 2 chairs per table

When the Program room is set up for Theatre Seating all eight tables are used to create are four rows of four tables with an aisle down the center with two chairs at each table. This arrangement seats 32 with eight gray bucket chais across the back wall.

Group Seating

Days: Tue, Thu

8 tables, 5 chairs per table

When the Program room is set up for Group Seating half the tables are folded and stored at the front of the classroom leaving eight tables with five chairs around each table. Thee tables along the each of the two side walls and two in the center. This arrangement seats 40.

General Room Maintenance and Tips!

In Theatre Seating arrangement seven or eight extra chairs should be folded and nested by the classroom door behind the podium.

For the Group Seating arrangement, eight tables should be folded and nested away next to the instructors materials table with desk surface facing out.

Spacing for Theatre Seating

Make sure chairs are low enough for the chair arms to fit UNDER the table surface not above it.

Tables are folded using the lever under the table at the center of the front then nested at the front of the room next to the instructors materials table. Make sure that they are folded all the way, flat vertical, with surface facing out, away from wall.

Chairs are folded using the lever on the bottom of the seat front and center then nested next to the door behind the instructors podium.

When seating two per table the chairs should go on the opposite side of the table from the lever on the side with the long base.

Tidy up materials rack, wipe down white boards, DO NOT BLOCK ACCESS TO FIRE ALARM OR EXTINGUISHER.

Tidy up instructors materials table.

Pick up garbage from around the room and clean up after students.
