Students across the Florida State University campus are innovating, researching and exploring new ideas on a daily basis. The Student Innovation Celebration lauds these students for their hard work and invites the FSU and Tallahassee community to engage with these students and learn about their inventive work in technology, the arts and more.

Undergraduate Research Symposium & Opening Celebration

March 28, 2017, 9:30 am - 4:15 pm, Union Ballroom
The Undergraduate Research Symposium is an annual showcase for undergraduate student researchers to present their work to the university community. The symposium is an interdisciplinary event that showcases research and creative activities from across campus. Hundreds of student researchers, including those from the FSU’s Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP), present their work as poster presentations. This symposium kicks off the two-week Student Innovation Celebration.

ACC Inventure Prize Finals

March 31, 2017, 8 - 9 PM, Televised on WFSU TV
They’ve gone head to head on the field, and now the Atlantic Coast Conference’s best entrepreneurs battle it out Shark Tank-style. Each university has set out to find their very best students to compete against other ACC schools in the second annual ACC InVenture Prize innovation competition. Cheer on FSU during this live televised event from Georgia Tech on WFSU TV.

TEDxFSU

TEDxFSU explores the ideas of FSU people: students, faculty, and alumni. This year presenters will examine ideas centered around the theme of “Grey Areas” — the spaces where boundaries are blurred and opposite poles touch. in one afternoon, TEDxFSU will spread FSU ideas from art, science, culture — and all the areas in between. ACC Meeting of the Minds

Undergraduate students across all 15 ACC universities are involved in a variety of projects that provide unique contributions to research and creativity across a broad spectrum of fields. The annual ACC Meeting of the Minds Conference has become an opportunity for universities in the ACC to highlight the diversity of scholarly engagements undertaken by undergraduates and for students to share their work with peers across the ACC.

Torch the Green - A Flashmob for Innovation

Celebrating FSU as a center for technological innovation by transforming FSU’s iconic Landis Green into the world’s largest FSU Torch by encouraging more than a thousand students from across campus to join President Thrasher on Landis Green, and form the shape of a Giant Torch of Innovation — a flash mob to Torch the Green!

DIGITECH, Sharktank & Closing Celebration

Students innovating with technology! DIGITECH features dozens of interactive, innovative student and department exhibits: robots, apps, artistic creations, engineering wonders, tech start-ups, all types of innovations. Participating students compete for the coveted crystal DIGITECH trophies. Creative digital music performaces, $1000 Shark Tank business pitch competition, T-shirt and prize give-aways for all! DIGITECH concludes with a party celebration the conclusion of the two-week Student Innovation Celebration.
